PINTEREST WIN OR FAIL: SOFT, CHEWY SUGAR COOKIES
HELLO! So it has been a while since I’ve done one of these babies, but I really want to start doing them more frequently because I think they are hilarious and fun and insightful. On this edition of Pinterest Win or Fail, I bring you a lovely sugar cookie recipe from Rockrecipes.com. So I was drawn to this recipe for a couple of reasons:
1) I am absolutely obsessed with sugar cookies. Whether they are iced, plain, or sprinkled, they are freaking delicious (I love versatile foods, hence my love for potatoes) and
2) I am #teamsoftcookies forever. I think Soft cookies are always the way to go and I love when they’re kind of chewy and warm and just ugh my mouth is watering already.
So this particular recipe made the top 25 recipes out of about 200 cookie recipes on the website and over 1300 recipes overall! That should speak to how delicious they are. So when I needed a recipe for national ice cream sandwich day, picking this one was basically a no-brainer.
I converted it into a gluten-free recipe using my Bob’s Red Mill 1 for 1 flour. It’s really a toss-up to see how this affects various recipes and I’m hoping Pinterest Win or Fail will also be a way for me to track what works and what doesn’t. In this case…well… I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
hahah. So it would appear that overall, these were a fail…BUT. I don’t really think that’s true! The only thing wrong with these is that they were really flat for some reason? Any of my baker friends know why this was the case? I put in the baking powder and baking soda as directed. They otherwise were super delicious and as soft and chewy as I was hoping for. They made EXCELLENT ice cream sandwich cookies. Like mind-blowing wow. I will most definitely be making these again.
