I am so excited to be writing my first food post on a place that led me to have arguably one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.  I’m in the UK visiting the Maverick and we went into the City Centre for dinner and drinks and ended up at this place called Pitcher & Piano.  First off, what an amazing name, right? Pitchers, pianos.. how could you go wrong?

Let me give you guys a little background.  So Pitcher & Piano has 18 bars across the UK and they’re all in different types of cool buildings.  The location we went to in Nottingham is inside of this beautiful old church that is complete with stained glass windows and gorgeous brick archways. It has two levels, pianos on both (stop by on Sundays for live music!) , and a lot of seating for diners and/or drinkers.  The main bar is on the first floor and is like a beautiful center piece for the entire restaurant.  I loved the tall velvet blue chairs and the hanging empty bottles that surrounded the bar as well as the color scheme. The decor in the entire place is just incredible.  The Maverick and I kept talking about how we enjoyed that they didn’t just go with the ‘I’m in a church’ theme but added little details that accented the fact that you are in a church.  Does that make sense?  It was comfortable rustic antique-y chic.  I feel like part of the reason I enjoyed my experience so much is because it stimulated all of my senses!  I don’t know if I’ve had that kind of experience while dining before.

In terms of food, we were able to use two of the featured deals and our meals were SO cheap.  Like £20 between the two of us for food and drinks, AND GUYS IT WAS SO DELICIOUS.  We split the All American which was a burger with Monterey Jack cheese, bacon and fries and then the chorizo Mac and cheese. I’m pretty sure we heard angels singing with every bite and I now see that chorizo mac in my dreams.  Everything was perfect.

In conclusion, go to Pitcher & Piano if you get the chance; it’s beautiful, delicious, and affordable.  It’s a whole new reason to sing “Take me to Church,” as if y’all needed another reason 😉
